i’m lizzie (she/they)

My mission is to help others let down their walls so they can feel alive. I am especially passionate about telling stories by and for queer folks, marginalized genders, Jewish people, and BIPOC folks, and being a part of projects that value collaboration and empathy.

Some highlights of where I’ve been: Sophie on the “Mamma Mia!” National Tour, Anybodys in “West Side Story” at the IHI Stage Around in Tokyo, and most recently, as a swing in “Cabaret” at Asolo Repertory Theatre, directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes.

Currently, I am developing my debut solo show.

I’m obsessed with my cat, Itza, Mary Oliver poetry, Joni Mitchell, and slow Sundays in Astoria.

I am committed to bringing wholehearted presence into everything I do, to magnifying joy, and to holding space for everyone’s voice, especially the quietest person’s.

These things are hard to write. How do you sum up who you are in a few paragraphs? Email me at lizzie.markson@gmail.com if you want to know more or or chat about collaboration, and/or all things queer, art, or cat-related.
